Rickets Point Marine Sanctuary
Spend these school holidays with marine biologist Jordyn, exploring the magnificent rockpools at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary! Discover the incredible diversity of marine life and learn how to protect and care for the plants and animals that call the ocean home through a series of fun, hands-on, and educational outdoor activities.
Nestled in Beaumaris, in Melbourne’s south‑eastern bayside suburb. Rickets Point Marine Sanctuary is a protected marine sanctuary with sandstone reefs, intertidal rock platforms and rockpools, perfect for exploring underwater life in shallow waters.
Over the course of two hours, children will investigate the rockpools, learn about the unique ecosystems of Port Phillip Bay and explore the effects of plastic pollution on marine life, and work together to discover practical ways they can take meaningful action to protect the ocean.
With Eco Explorers facilitator and marine biologist Jordyn leading the adventure, this workshop encourages children to connect with nature, develop empathy for marine life, and become young guardians of the ocean.
Ages: 4 – 10 years
*Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
